What I have an accent?

It tells me I have an inland North accent. I thought I spoke true engrish...english.

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

My little "the inland north" bar was completely filled in with red.

When I was in Seattle, it was observed that I really "sounded like I was from Michigan". It shocked the hell out of me. I didn't think it was that obvious. Even more so if the UP or Tech come up in conversation.

It confused me so much I think because people always told me that I didn't sound like I was from around here. But I think it had more to do with my choice of words than my pronunciation of them.

I wish their image wasn't broken. Doesn't show the graphs. I seemed to have a nice blend, but inland north I definitely am.

And yes, I have gotten the "you have a midwest accent" out here.
