Well, it went off without a hitch (besides my best attempt at being a Scrooge). Miranda was overall not getting it, which I was totally expecting. She tore into a couple of presents, but that was because she loves to shove paper in her mouth as opposed to any yuletide interests.
Once the toys were open she dutifully went to each one and checked them out. However I am noticing that she has more of an interest in the noisy ones. How come I am not surprised? She got some pretty clothing and noisy toys and lots of pictures taken of her. Fun.
I am definitely looking forward to next year to see how it will be greeted then!

Yeah, Luma just kind of sat there wide-eyed watching reflections of light on whatever shiny surfaces were near her. But after it came out of the box, she really liked this baby cookie monster my parents got her. The big contrasting black & white eyes on that bright blue monster really did her in. Her little head and eyes followed him wherever he went.
My second cousin Alexis (who just turned 1 year old) doesn't really care much either. She just wanders all around the gifts, really only sticking around cause it's where the people are gathered. If she sees something unwrapped that she likes, she might pause or look at it curiously, but that's about it.

Miranda, having just finished "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" ponders the meaninglessness of the presents she's just received in light of the fact that she can't yet sing along with all of the other Whos.
