Lord Stanley's Cup

Well I was able to watch the NHL finals this year and it offered a great experience for me. The main reason for that is because my two favorite teams were playing for it all, although my favorite is the Wings. Overall I found this cup well played by the Wings, but the Penguins did not until their back was against the wall. Especially in game six when the started having better puck control and being more aggressive as the Wings got the puck. So I am looking forward to next year and I really hope that the Penguins can keep their team together.

My interpretation was the the Penguins just could bounce back from long games, you know the ones with 3 overtimes. They got to the final because of an overtime win, then didn't play up to par for 2 games. They won game 5 in overtime then in game 6 didn't play up to par and lost.

Penguins didn't quite play as well as I thought they would, but that's alright. Go Wings! This series was great for the NHL. Glad to see the ratings were up. Pittsburgh has a lot of talent, but that experience just wasn't there. I think the Wings might have another one in 'em next year too....

Definitely agree that the Pens have been hot and cold. But they do have solid talent, if only showing much heart when it is almost too late...

The Pens have a lot of skill, but a complete lack of leadership when it counts.

Their coach and their captain had more excuses than answers. To win it all, they are going to have to get themselves some mid-level journeymen, role-players (to replace the cap casualties), get a real coach, and move the C to someone else. Sid is just not ready for the job. He showed a lot of individual grit and skill in the Finals, no diving that I saw, but no leadership either.
